Simply amazing (2009-02-25)
I have played Diablo over 9 yrs and just a couple of months ago i got the Battle Chest. I am not tired of it at all, and every update made by Blizzard has being great; providing more fun and action...

Old game perfect for killing time (2009-01-30)
This is a REALLY OLD game, but it is fun to create and build new characters and given the option to play with other players.

Hope you enjoy grinding. (2009-01-27)
Expect to grind for countless hours if you want to clear bosses. Each act contains six quests (often overlapping) and then a final act boss. The act quests are reasonably challenging without being too frustrating, but act bosses will kill you in sometimes one, usually two shots unless you grind for an obscenely long time to get a few levels.

Example: I played without grinding to the end of act 2, coming to the final boss with a Level 23 Druid with 146 hit points. The boss has (on the EASIEST difficulty) no less than 4,000 hit points and routinely does over 100 points of damage on a single strike. I have no desire to grind for days upon days to get to level 30, and so I have uninstalled the game to free hard drive space for something better.

Entertainment and Re-playability is off the charts (2009-01-06)
For anyone who is tired of paying for an online game, but still wants quality, D2 LOD is the best. It's addictive if you want it to be, but it is a fabulous time waster!
A great game with plenty of depth, and the re-playability is astounding, with 7 classes to choose from and 3 difficulty settings, it will take you a long time to get tired of this game! Highly recommended!

Fun Game! (2008-12-06)
This is quite a fun game. The graphics can be a little hard to get used to at first, but if you can get past them, you should have a lot of fun!

Blizzard's free online gaming is great, albeit not as good as Starcraft's is. The online gaming service for Diablo 2 should be improved/updated a bit though. I think one of their other games (Starcraft) has a better looking one.

I really like that Blizzard's gaming service allows you to chat with your friends if they're online playing most other Blizzard games too. If they're on Starcraft or Warcraft III, you can put them on your friend list and stuff too, even though you're playing Diablo. Its pretty nice.

Product Description
The Sims 2 is an incredible sequel to the best-selling PC game of all-time! You'll get to direct an entire Sims' lifetime, and try to get them to reach their goals in life. Will they have a long, successful and happy life - or will they end up poor and heartbroken?
Amazon.com
The Sims was one of the most popular games ever made. In it, players micromanage the lives of a family of virtual people, or Sims, and influence their paths toward success or something akin to a nervous breakdown. Its open-ended blend of cartoonish behavior and everyday living is unique in an art form otherwise obsessed with carnage and sports. With The Sims 2, longtime fans now have a deeper game with lots of ways to customize and share their experiences. The game will also attract first-timers because the goal-oriented gameplay and the luridly fun starter families make it easier to get into the action right out of the box.

Now Sims are born with the traits of their parents, families grow, and Sims grow old.

The People in Your Neighborhood
The game starts at the neighborhood level. Here you can create a housing development from scratch or start with one of three premade neighborhoods, each with its own theme. From there, you'll settle on a house and a family of Sims to control.

The Sims 2 body shop
Create your own Sim (above) or your own house (below) from scratch with advanced tools.
The Sims 2 house-building tools
Aside from the basic needs carried over from the previous game, Sims now have aspirations, wants, and fears. The wants and fears are the day-to-day things that occupy their minds, like wanting to see friends or get married and fearing death or being rejected for a kiss. Satisfy their wants, and they become more efficient at completing tasks you assign them. Realize their fears, and Sims become lethargic, cranky, and unresponsive to your commands. Aspirations are the big-picture things, like raising a family, becoming wealthy, and gaining knowledge. Succeed here and you'll be able to buy odd gifts for your Sim to improve his or her life, like a money tree that pays dividends or a "fountain of youth" water cooler.

What Else Is New?
Of course, you wouldn't be able to juggle all that if it weren't for the improved "Free Will" option, which makes it easier for Sims to fulfill their basic needs. The artificial intelligence of the game is noticeably improved; they won't turn on radios just as a family member is going to bed but, strangely, they do occasionally put their dishes on the floor.

Another big change in the series is the concept of the lifespan. Now Sims are born with the traits of their parents, families grow, and Sims grow old. Not only does this go hand in hand with aspirations (growing up is the first aspiration that a baby Sim will have), it provides a limited time with which your Sims can achieve their goals.

Sims in live mode
The Universal Control Panel helps you manage your Sim family.
A Family Affair
The Sims 2 not only lets you create just about any type of Sim in any type of family, build elaborate houses, and even create a neighborhood from scratch, but it also allows you to start the game in medias res, with premade households. These families all have backstories that are smart spoofs of soap-opera plots--lots of scheming, romance, ghosts, and family fighting. Parents of teens shouldn't worry, though, because nudity is tastefully blurred out and "woo-hoo" between Sims takes place completely under the covers. The ESRB has given this a Teen rating. If The Sims 2 were a film, it would likely land between PG and PG-13.

The makers have included some nice tools to help share the universe you've created. For example, you can capture in-game stills and video to show friends the private moments, family interactions, and house parties of your Sims. You can even package a household to share as a blog or an album on a special Web site.

The Sims 2 is for patient gamers. Like life itself, the game is filled with mundane details, like getting ready for work and doing dishes. The game also demands a level of creativity from its players that the run-and-gun game genres wouldn't know what to do with. But those who stick with it will be rewarded with an absorbing, amusing diversion and a virtual family history that they've created themselves. --Porter B. Hall

Should run on Intel Macs (2009-02-24)
I feel compelled to write a review because while researching the specs for this game, I found that none of the reviews here had my exact hardware/system software combo. While I ran the Aspyr Game Agent and passed the specs, I still saw that some people here had done the same and yet could not run the game. One review even distinctly tells Intel Macs owners to beware, especially those with Leopard 10.5, which is exactly what I have.

So I was apprehensive, but ultimately trusted the Game Agent, bit my tongue and bought it. And now, I am SO GLAD I DID!! I can say this much, the game is awesome, but more importantly, it works very well on my system. I also downloaded the Universal Binary patch from Aspyr.com and noticed a marked improvement in performance. Animation is consistently smooth and loading times are reasonable. In short, I am impressed, but perhaps only because these reviews lowered my expectations. I don't even have to quit other applications for it to run well.

For those with Intel Macs & Leopard, do some research into your graphics card, but on the whole you should be fine. I have a MacBook Pro, running OS X 10.5.4, 2 Ghz Intel Core Duo, with 1.5GB SDRAM and as said before, the game runs very well. I would download, use and trust the Aspyr Game Agent. Good luck!

fun game, but won't work (2009-02-24)
I bought this game a couple of months ago, and it was just as fun, if not more fun than the original sims games that I remember playing years ago. But then while studying for test and things I didn't have a chance to play it for about a month. When I went to play it again it just wouldn't open. The icon would bounce in the dock and then do nothing. So I tried to reinstall it and nothing happened. I still have no idea what do about it and having finally just given up. $40 wasted because EA games has yet to successfully put their games on macs.

Sims (2009-02-12)
The game is fun, additional game extensions would make it more fun, such as purchasing the Sims Dating or any other one, which I am planning to do.

Enjoyable game (2009-02-09)
I have always been a fan of The Sims games. I have been looking frantically for one that is compatible with my macbook. The game now has better graphic and new interplay making it even more addicting than the original! If you like to control your own world it is the perfect game!

I loved this game (2009-02-02)
We have both the Mac version and Playstation versions of this game. I love them both. We have gotten hours of entertainment from them. Highly recommended.

lots of fun (2009-01-08)
Warcraft III in itself is a very good game with excellent graphics and exhillerating gameplay but what really makes this game is the multiplayer and how you can download games like DotA and battle tanks. I highly recommend this for all who love RTS games and mythological worlds.

If I could only own one game..... this is it. (2008-12-09)
The real gem in this package is "The Frozen Throne". Sure the Campaigns are really fun and well done;but, the online play is what really shines. If you have a decent internet connection, you can sign onto Blizzard's Battle Net and play against players all over the world for free. Thousands of players are ready to take you on in solo matches or with partners in 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 games.
For nearly 3years I have played this game almost on a nightly basis. I am a leader in a top-rated clan where I can meet up with my clan-mates and game.
If you need a change from the ordinary game, you can always play one of the free custom games based on "The Frozen Throne" like Battleship Pro, footmen frenzy, footmen vs grunts, tower defense, or the fantastic custom called DOTA { Defense of the Ancients" ([...])

Go check out some game footage on [....]
Get it now.

Works On Intel Imac (2006 - 24") OSX (2008-11-25)
Great Game. Runs Great. I'm a Mac Gamer (AND XBOX360 GAMER!!! WOO!!!) so I just wanted to let everyone know it runs perfectly.

I LOVE THIS GAME (2008-10-24)
Warcraft 3 is the best. I've been playing it forever and I lost my copy, so I bought the Battle Chest instead. I didn't realize it came with a players guide, so that was cool. DOTA RULEZ

Excelent game, slow shipping (2008-10-24)
I love the game but the time it took to get it was a little excessive there's really no excuse for this especially with what I was charged for shipping.

stool gets the job done (2009-02-20)
This drum stool is somewhat small. but not too small for my but. The drum stool gets the job done. It isn't the best stool in the world, but for 30$, you get exactly what you pay for. it looks very professional, and i would suggest this to those that don't have a stool to sit on when playing there favorite music game. Definitely check this out on amazon!

Not bad, but far from good (2009-02-17)
Rock Throne Drum Stool

For the price I guess it's not bad... I personally would have saved my money and picked up something better. I'm 5' 11" about 163 (Not a big guy) so I thought it wouldn't be a problem for me since I read about the weight issues. But after using it 2 times and the 2nd time for over 3 hours it pretty much gave up on me.

It tends to close out by itself from time to time, it doesn't seem to have enough padding and the hole from the seat to connect to the base is about 1/4 of a inch wider..so there is tons of play and it only gets worse.

Now...if your looking to get a throne for a child as a starter one this would be it. If you are a mid-advance "gaming" drummer... keep looking.

Good for teenagers or kids (2009-02-13)
I bought this for my children, but I would not trust it with an average adult of 175 or more. I bought a real drum throne for myself, but this one is great for my children.

Not Horrendous for $30 (2009-02-12)
Well, let's just say this. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! For $30 I can't complain too much. I am 6'3" and weigh in at 220 so this is NOT the most comfortable seat I could be sitting on, but at the same time, it could have been a lot worse. I can 't keep seated for more than a 4 song set because things start to get sore and I need to get up and move around. This thing is NOT tall enough for someone my size. As someone said earlier, if you are 5'10" or taller, save your money!

Keeps you up. (2009-02-01)
While this isn't the most sturdy, it serves its purpose. Easy to adjust and comfortable to sit on.

Easy (2009-02-15)
Game time 60 days. Works like a charm. No waking down to the nearest game store. It is delivered right to my door.

Good service, but there are better options (2009-01-29)
I ordered a card from here once. I got it about 3 days later, which is okay, but I found out that you can go and order from places like [...] and have your code right then and there. So yeah buying from here is great an all, but there are better choices.

Good, but wasteful (2009-01-09)
My wife and I use these to keep our playing habit under control. We have to make a conscious decision every 60 days to keep going, and we get to keep our credit card information to ourselves.

As others have mentioned, however, this is extraordinarily wasteful. They are overpackaged and the entire package and everything in it hits the landfill the second the code is entered.

Ideally Amazon could just show us the code on their site; they're doing a lot of other digital delivery these days.

Hence three stars: five, minus two for the sickening inefficiency.

Good, easy gift for anyone who plays WoW (2009-01-08)
At Christmas, I got this same thing for five people who play Warcraft, and they all loved it. For four of them, I wrapped up the box it came in and gave it to them. The fifth lives out of town, so I simply emailed her the number off the back of the card, which is all she needed. It's about the only good gift that can be emailed. :)

Gift for Christmas (2009-01-06)
I was not aware that my son would need to purchase anything extra to use this card but it does not work with the downloaded version of the game so we had to spend an extra $80 in order to use the card! Obviously not a problem that had to do with Amazon at all but just thought I'd let other parents know before they purchase the card.

What a Gem (2009-02-25)
Played the Wii Ware version at a friend's house.

Great game that's not overly fancy in graphics, it's affordable, challenging in ways that requires the players to think.

Huzzah! For the independent game developers.

Non-DRM (2009-02-19)
EA? Are you listening? This game gets a 5 all around for many reasons, but even if I hated the game, it would sit on my shelf gathering dust in honor, for the simple fact that is has absolutely no DRM. No passwords, no copy protection, no SecureCrotch, no SafeDix, nothing. Extremely addictive, nice graphics, and completely worth every penny. Screw you EA.

Brilliant, really, really Brilliant. (2009-02-18)
This game is unbelievable. It is very challenging (but accessible) to my 6 year old, and to me as well. What a brilliant way to teach problem solving skills. A month after we got this (a christmas present 2008) the teachers started calling him "the problem solver" at school and I doubt they were doing engineering problems in 1st grade.

Goo (2009-02-16)
This game is so fun. I never knew I knew so much about physics.

Simple mechanics, great gameplay (2009-02-14)
I was a casual fan of the free prototype "Tower of Goo" from a few years back, but I quickly forgot about it. Fast forward to a few months ago, when I decided to pick up this game based primarily on the word of reviewers. I don't regret it.

While this game has the same mechanics as its prototype (i.e. mouse-driven building), the developers have cleverly expanded on the idea with new "goo" types and fairly devious physics puzzles. In fact, there were a few times that I was downright frustrated by the "physics" of the game. Due to the "gooey" nature of the buildings, I often underestimated the strength of my creations which led to several collapsed structures. The limited "undo" and "skip level" functions helped ease my frustrations. The story (conveyed through in-game text and simple cut-scenes) is pretty forgettable, but does provide hints and helps flesh out the already-vibrant world. My only real complaint is that the game is too short.
